Carnival Victory Part 1

Carnival Victory

Our vacation cruise started out just right. First, with our visit to El Mago De Las Fritas and second, heading over to the port of Miami and jumping on the Carnival Victory.

Our dining was at the Pacific Upper area dining room. 13 of us in total. Lots of dishes and lots of people. Norman and Apollo were the ones taken care of us this cruise. Great service all around and the food was great. Now, on to the FOOD STUFF!!

Fruit cocktail salad. Fresh fruits cut up just right and presented in an elegant way.

Gourmet Burger. This was Jomaris’s dish. He barely took like three bites and was full. That is a big ole burger.

Mac and Cheese. This was what Joelle ordered. We all got to taste a bit of everyone’s dish.

Marinated Pork with Mac and cheese and carrots. This was @xobejm dish.

Shrimp Cocktail. This was mine. Loved it with the cocktail sauce.

Spinach Dip. This is what Jowan ordered. Again, the presentation of all these dishes are outstanding.

Broccoli and cheddar soup. This is what @tarajroth ordered. I had a bit and loved it. I just do not like soups but this one was really good.

Lasagna. Had to take two different shots on this one. They make it with all the goodies inside and lean ground beef. This was one of my favorites.

Greek Chicken. This was my dish. I almost didn’t want to share this with the family. Great tasting dish and it was part of the healthy menu.

Warm chocolate cake. My dessert for the evening.

Black Forest cake. This was @aroth dessert. It had bing cherries inside. I usually don’t like it cuz of the cherries but these were very light and I could hardly taste them. Very good dessert.

New York Style cheesecake. With the strawberry sauce. Very light. I was not a fan of @tarajroth dessert choice tonight.

Great evening of food and family. Round two will be tomorrow evening.

Carnival Victory Part 2

Round Two. And I promised myself I wouldn’t eat as much this time around, but it’s so hard when the whole family is ordering great dishes. And boy…..can we eat.

Spicy Alligator Fritters served on tropical tomato salsa. This is on the DIDJA part of the menu. They call it the DIDJA. (Did you ever). This part of the menu has one dish that is unique and exotic and not something that you would usually try.

Greek salad. This was @aroth dish. This was good. I think Tim explained it perfectly. You can tell it’s made fresh because it’s not soggy. Every bit of that salad crunched.

Minestrone soup. This was @tarajroth dish. I passed on this one. I just don’t do soups.

Fried Vegetable Spring Roll with tomato, oregano, and olive oil. Very nice. @Xobejm didn’t like them. She is not used to the Asian flavors as of yet. She doesn’t know what she is missing. : )

Ribs, @xobejm tore these puppies up. They would fall off the bone and the amount of BBQ sauce was spot on. The whole table ordered extra ribs because they were so good.

Bowtie Pasta with turkey. @Tarajroth ordered this as her entree. The turkey part was turning me off and I didn’t want to try it. I hesitated and took a bite and it was very good.

Prime Rib. @aroth doesn’t play when it comes to meat. CAARRRRNNNNNEE!! Cooked perfectly and nice huge portion.

Martini braised basa fillet with tomato, chili and fennel. Served on a sundried tomato, chive, and potato gallete. (Their winning recipe from the 5th Bacardi cruise competition in the Italian category, from Chef Ajay Nair) This was my dish and the winner for this evening.

Diet Banana cake. Yep, I said it. Diet sponge cake. This one was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I love all kinds of sugar free treats. but they tried a little bit too much with this one. The rest of the family got the warm chocolate cake from last night.

Blue Martini. Wifey ended the night in style. She has a great skill in doing so. Not to overwhelmingly strong and a bit fruity. Just the right drink before heading to bed.

Carnival Victory Part 3

Part Three. The third night and I must admit I should just stop saying I will not eat and just say that I will. We all had a big lunch and still managed to have a big dinner. Wow.

Tonight was a great night for photos. All the guest were off the ship at 6:00pm because our all aboard time was 9:30pm. Very few people would be coming to dinner tonight.

We were in the Upper area of the Pacific Dining room. Because of having such a large group they sat us in the back near the window. Great view. Now, lets talk FOOD!

Fried Chicken with mash potatoes, broccoli, and carrots.

Baked Potato. @Tarajroth just wanted a fully loaded potato for dinner tonight. Bacon, cheese, and sour cream always do the trick.

Tilapia. @dleboss ordered this one. He mentioned it was very good.

Fruit salad. This was @aroth who ordered this one. It looked nice and refreshing after a long Cozumel day.

Grilled chicken breast, served over fettucine tossed in mushroom cream. This was @vleboss dish. The awesome thing about Carnival is you can order the main meal as a starter. They give you a smaller size. Love it. I tasted this and loved it.

Red Fish. I must have missed this from the menu. Tim was the one who ordered this.

Turkey. This was Jowan’s dish. Not sure what sides came with it.

Flat Iron Steak. Same as what Tim got the last time. This time @vleboss ordered it.

Fried Shrimp. Jowan ordered these. The good thing about having lots of people is that you can order almost everything from the menu and share it.

Chile Relleno. @gjoseph kept on asking if anyone had ordered this one and no one did. So, she went and got this dish. I took one small bite and so did she and that was it. No one else tried it. Good. Not amazing, but good.

Coconut Cake. @aroth dish. Dessert time is everyone’s favorite time.

Tiramisu. My dessert for tonight.

Apple pie. The scoop of vanilla ice cream was put on the side after I took the picture. This was Jowan’s dish.

Last, but not least. Tim showing all the servers a card trick. LOL. I had to add this photo to the blog. Priceless. He had them all captivated.

Carnival Victory Part 4

4th night. I feel like all we have done is eating. After this I need a good detox. Wow. What great meals we had on this ship.

The Arnold Palmer. My drink every night. The whole family started ordering it as well. Our server Norman made the best ones. Jowan called it the Norman Palmer. Now, Let’s talk FOOD!

Penne Mariscos. (Starter size) sautéed shrimps, calamari, and scallops. Served on Italian pasta tossed with tomato cream sauce. As I said, love that you can get any entree as a starter.

Vine ripe beefsteak tomatoes and fresh buffalo mozzarella. Marinated with basil leaves and virgin olive oil. This is what @tarajroth ordered.

Crab cake. Roasted red pepper sauce. This was my starter. Very tasty.

Gratinated Onion Soup. Baked with a slice of homemade bread, freshly grated gruyere and Parmesan cheese. This was @vleboss dish.

Baked Meatloaf with gravy. Creamy mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese. This was Gabrielle’s dish.

Grilled Fillet of Mahi Mahi. Diced potatoes, grilled zucchini, grilled tomato with olive dressing. My dish.

Veal Parmigiana with tomato sauce. Golden fried milk fed veal baked with mozzarella cheese, diced potatoes, grilled zucchini. This is what @tarajroth ordered.

Chicken Nuggets. @Xobejm had the Mac and cheese and didn’t like it on the last evening. For some reason on the last night it didn’t taste as good as the previous nights. So, she got the chicken nuggets instead.

Amaretto cake. Almond flavored chocolate cake. This was mine. Some of the team decided not to get dessert and the other half got the usual warm chocolate lava cake. This was my dessert for the evening.

Overall, it was a magnificent cruise with great weather and great food. Carnival did not disappoint with their dinners. We will be coming back soon!
