(Delivery Service)

So you know with me there is always a story. I was eating at El Tapatio in Kissimmee last night. @Xobejm and I have dinner there often. I happened to see a sign that said Didn’t think much of it until I read the rest.

Carne Frita and Mofongo. (Tu Casa Restaurant) They are a delivery service. Similar to what Orlando has had for a while now. You order food from a restaurant of your choice and the delivery service will deliver it. Well, now Kissimmee has the same program. has a few restaurants to choose from. Many more restaurants will be added later. You pick which restaurant you want, you see the menu, and pick the food you want, and they deliver it to your home. Kissimmee has never had this before and I am so thrilled that they are starting to do this. We will be able to taste menus from several places from the comfort of our own home.

Garlic Chicken with white rice. (Tu Casa Restaurant)
Tonight was my first time trying it. I went to and placed my order. Tonight I chose Tu Casa Restaurant. Located in Orlando. You have to create an account and once you are logged in you are ready to order. The website is very easy to use. Adding a delivery address was a challenge at first and then it just automatically worked which was weird.

Peppered Steak with Mofongo (Tu Casa Restaurant)
After I picked the restaurant and the food I wanted I checked out and paid. Received email confirmation of the order and in even got a phone call from saying that they received the order and will be delivering it at the time I had specified.

Bread Pudding (Tu Casa Restaurant)
Even cooler about 30 minutes before my delivery time I received a text message saying that the driver was at the restaurant. I was in shock. A text message keeping informed and updated on the driver and his or hers status. Very cool.

Tres Leches (Tu Casa Restaurant)
My delivery time was scheduled for 5:15 in the afternoon, so I was anxiously awaiting around 4:50 PM. I had told the guy from that I was very happy that the service was provided in Kissimmee and I was looking forward to using the service often.
The part I enjoyed the most was the communication every so often. These were the messages I received:
 FRM:Hungry Express
MSG:Your order (#68) has been confirmed by the dispatcher.
 FRM:Hungry Express
 MSG:Your order’s (#68) driver has arrived at the restaurant(s).
 FRM:Hungry Express
MSG:Your order (#68) has been delivered! Thank you for using Hungry Express!
Truly amazed with how smooth the process went. The delivery was here on time and the food was great. I have been there before, but it is out of my way. Now, with I can have the food delivered to my door step.
For now there are only a few options available. More restaurants will be added soon. The delivery woman Betty is actually the owner of It is operated by her and her sister. I thanked her so many times for having this service available in Kissimmee. She told me to spread the word and I said that I definitely would.

This is a definite Two Thumbs up!! A much needed service in Kissimmee. Spread the word.

Oh Que Bueno Restaurant

After a long day of eating at Epcot Food and Wine it was time to hang out with my dear friend Melvita from Chicago.

She was in town for a workshop and we had to see each other and have dinner. Fortunately, we were near a great Colombian restaurant on Semoran near the Orlando Internationl Airport.

Oh Que Bueno has been on this side of town for quite a bit now. Most of my Latino friends come here and have told me how good the food is.

The atmosphere is nice. When you walk in the music is playing at full blast and the locals are enjoying good conversation and a good meal.

It smells great as soon as you enter and we were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Tonight seemed a bit busy. Every table had someone and the servers were moving and shaking helping the customers.

Joaquin was our server for tonight. Very friendly gentleman with a great sense of humor and excellent regarding knowledge of food and dessert. I had to start off with a Colombiana to drink.

Bandeja Paisa.
Arroz, frijoles, carne asada, chorizo, chicharron, morcilla, maduro, huevo y arepa (rice, beans, steak, fried pork skin, sausage, fried sweet plantain, black sausage, fried egg and corn cake). This was my dish. The portions are enormous.

Grilled skirt steak. This was @xobejm dish. She ate the whole steak. She loved it! Joaquin suggested to try an assortment of their sauces.

Carne Asada.
Grilled top round steak. This was @tarajroth dish and Melvita got the same dish but with plantains. We all tried the different sauces and they were all so good. Mojito, Hot Sauce, and Chimichurri. I did not take a photo of the sauces because we immediately attacked them.

Postre De Natas
Creme dessert

Flan De Queso

Tres Leches. We had to share all the desserts tonight. These hit the spot and were a great ending to our meal.

Luckily, tonight we were hungry. Oh Que Bueno went all out and delivered an amazing huge meal and dessert. Overall, very nice place. Decent size. Music is a bit loud. TV screen to watch sports. Full bar. Clean restrooms. Great customer service.

Joaquin, Gracias por todo. La comida y el servicio estuvo excelente. Te lo agradezco mucho.

Rio Mexican Grille

Rio Mexican Grille

Tonight Baby Girl was hanging out with grandma. Wifey and I searched for a new place while avoiding the mall and outlet traffic. On 192 on mile marker 10 is Rio Mexican Grille.

We were greeted by Linda when we walked in. She was very friendly and in a great mood. She walked us in and I was amazed by the size of this place. It’s huge.

This seemed more like an overflow room even though it is part of the restaurant. I would love to see the whole restaurant packed with people. I am sure this place is hopping in the evening.

This is the bar. Great options and they offer a variety of drinks. With a bar like this, you name it, you get it. The same owner of this restaurant owns Sharky’s sports bar next door.

I love their set up. You can see the decorations and how much work they put into the appearance.

Lily our server came to our table with our chips and salsa. This salsa was delicious. Not at all what you taste in other restaurants. Fresh cilantro in this salsa. @Tarajroth and I were very happy.

Carnitas a la Michoacan with yellow rice and beans. Corn tortillas on the side. The onions on top of the pork made the flavors pop. I actually made a taco and added some of the salsa from the chips to the taco to make a perfect bite.

Wifey @tarajroth ordered the Cheese enchiladas with yellow rice and beans. They come with two different sauces. Red and green. @Tarajroth decorated them nicely but unfortunately I didn’t get a picture. These enchiladas were very tasty and cheesy.

I ended with the Tres Leches. Love the taste of this. Not too sweet. Just the right amount of cinnamon on top.

@Tarajroth got the deep fried ice cream. I love the presentation of this dish. They made a great design on the plate. I tasted some of this and it was fantastic.

Rio Mexican Grille is worth giving a try. Great staff and great food. As all of you know, I love great customer service over anything else. Lily and Linda went above and beyond and made our experience ten times better.

Lilly, Gracias por todo. We will be coming back soon. Thank you so much for laughing with us.

Linda, we loved your smile when we walked in. Thanks for your kindness.

Puerto Rico’s Cafe

Puerto Rico’s Cafe

Amazing sign seen driving east or west on 192 in Kissimmee. A bit West of Central. @Xobejm and I were again feeling like something different and yet something delicious. While trying to avoid all types of holiday traffic I stumbled upon Puerto Rico’s Cafe. They have been here for over 20 years and I learned very quickly why that was.

There is this sense of elegance to this place. For a second, I felt I was actually in Puerto Rico while admiring the design of the building.

As is common for me to take my slanted pictures I truly was intrigued by the door. To the right of this door is another just like it. @Xobejm and I were not sure which one to open. Door number 1 or door number 2? We chose door number one, which is this door here.

This is way more space than I am used to around these parts. Lots of seating and the place is spotless. Locals come here to enjoy their cafecito con leche and a freshly made Mofongo.

The decor is amazing in Puerto Rico’s Cafe. All is laid out so well. And again I felt like I was in Puerto Rico all over again.

The bench caught my eye. And the lunch and dinner specials as well. : ) They have a variety of items to choose from and the specials change daily.

This is behind the wall where that bench was. It’s a little bar where you can get your smoothies, beer, etc. It’s also the counter to pay when you are done eating.
Now, on to the good stuff!!

Carmen, our server brought out a bread basket to start. This always makes my day. Just the right amount of garlic on top. Starting with this let me know that @xobejm and I were in for a delicious meal. Carmen was very nice and sweet. When Carmen walked away I got up to take some more pics and took the menu so I could be sure to write everything I ordered correctly. That’s when Rachel came to the table and made sure everything was okay. I explained what I was doing and she just wanted to be sure we had ordered already. Very friendly staff here and very attentive.

Rachel was sweet enough to bring out a Piña Colada smoothie for @xobejm. She not only did it for Baby Girl, but for another young girl in the restaurant. I thought that was awesome. I knew for a fact that Rachel must kill at night because she was way too nice.

I ordered the Churrasco (skirt steak) with white rice and black beans. These black beans were just like my mom made at home. Not too salty, which happens often in other restaurants. These were perfect. I ordered the steak medium and it was tender and delicious. @Xobejm ended up eating most of it as well. She loved this one.

Our second dish was the Mofongo stuffed with Chicken and garlic. Most places don’t serve it with the chicken broth on the side. Most times you have to ask for it. Here at Puerto Rico’s Cafe they include it with the dish. I ate almost all of this. This was fantastic.

For dessert we had the Cheese Flan, which came recommended by Carmen. Rachel said she preferred the Coconut flan. Rachel, by the way, is the grand daughter of the owner of Puerto Rico’s Cafe. Sweetest woman I have ever come across in any establishment. Made @xobejm and I feel very comfortable. I am not a lover of Flan but I took a bite and inhaled the rest of it. This was insanely good!!

Second dessert was the Tres Leches. This is Baby Girl’s favorite any place we go. I had a bite of this and this was very tasty. With all these dishes we had to bring one home with us. The Grilled Pork Chops for @tarajroth.

To Go: The Grilled Pork Chops with white rice, garlic bread, and small salad. Puerto Rico’s cafe has taken these pork chops to another level. Look at the size. These are nice and juicy. Truly the perfect pork chop.

Rachel and Carmen, Gracias por todo. La comida estuvo deliciosa! Vamos a regresar muy pronto.

Fortuna Bakery And Cafe

This one I can’t even believe myself. I went to go eat at Mi Bandeja Paisa again today. Two days in a row. This time I went with JB, KB, and @xobejm. As you know from my prior post, they serve huge portions. Well, this time I brought food to go. Meaning what? I had more room for dessert and treats. Last night, while going to Mi Bandeja Paisa I noticed lots of local people going into this bakery. So, of course I had to @urbanspoon it and see what was up with this place. WOWZA!! First of all, lots of positive comments and high ratings. KB had said she had been here before and said, LEGGO!! So, we did.

One word. DANG! Nice. Check out the place. I have truly been surprised with these small Latino businesses and their ability to look stylish.

Nice little selection there of treats and goodies. KB said she had come for breakfast one time before and she loved it. They had so many sweets.

They just keep on going and going.

Tres Leches and yes, more chocolate.

How were we supposed to decide. Finally, JB took the plunge and ordered a few. I followed with my order as well. Since we were too full from dinner, we decided to get them to go.

White chocolate cake, Mocha, and for baby girl the Tres Leches.

They were open pretty late. It was about 8:15pm. I would not expect a bakery to be open at this time. When I passed by yesterday the place was packed. And today before dinner it was again. I will have to check it out during breakfast as well to see what they got.

With just one concern. One of the workers in the back. A young man. He was sitting on one of the counters while customers were in the store. As a customer, I feel that they should show more courtesy and respect towards the clientele. I am sure it was after his work shift and he was just hanging out, but it just didn’t feel appropriate.

All the treats and sweets were amazing. I suggest if you are in the area to check them out. Yummy sweets!
