The Thai Resturant (Grand Cayman)

Another gorgeous day at Grand Cayman. This time I had @xobejm with me and she was excited about our food-venture. My buddy Taufan from DCL told me I had to try this place.

We asked a local taxi driver and she gave us great directions. Behind Scotia Bank and behind the Post Office. Best part was Taufan was inside the restaurant when we arrived. He really likes this place.

Because of my buddy Sammy on DCL he had me talking about Green Curry and I told him one day I would try it. Today was the day. They had a buffet for lunch, but I decided to order from the menu hoping they had Green Curry.

Green Curry and Chow Mein was going to be our order. To my surprise @xobejm and I had to trade dishes. She wanted spicy and not a “plain” dish. I was so proud of her. She loved the spicy Green Curry.

The service was spectacular. I told them Taufan had suggested this place and they loved hearing that. They were super nice to us. Locals come in and get their food and are on their way. Several crew members were here today. Several that I knew.

Thai Iced Tea. This is a must all the time.

Green Chicken Curry (Spicy)

Chicken Chow Mein
Again, service was spectacular. Great team. Everyone was extremely friendly and happy we were there. The place is beautiful. The decor is perfect and the restaurant is very clean.

Andy’s Thai Kitchen

Eating in Chicago is always a treat. You will never know what you will find. Again, staying close to Masonic hospital this was walking distance. I came here with my mom and her friend Lillian.

Nice place. There were some locals eating here. They left and I was able to take the pic. It is cash only, no credit cards. That did strike me as odd.

We were hungry and wanted to eat a bit of everything today. Unfortunately, because it was cash only we had to make sure we limited our order.

Started off with my usual Thai Tea. I like the glass they served it in.

Satay is always my go to dish in any Thai restaurant. Lillian really liked these.

Gyoza is also a must. This was my favorite part of the meal today. Very good.

Tom Yum. My mom and Lillian got this dish. I felt bad for Lillian because she didn’t like it. She ordered more Satay and was good with just that.

Duck Curry with white rice. Nice and spicy. The pineapple, grapes, and tomatoes were a little too much for me. I only ate the duck.

So, here was the overall impression from all of us today. The food was okay. Good, but not great. Also, cash only stinks. We always feel more liberty ordering when we can pay by card. Lastly, too expensive. Now remember I was born in raised in Chicago, but this was too pricey.

Chai Thai Cuisine Orlando

(Shot of the back entrance to Chai Thai. They heavily suggest you use the front door when entering)
This adventure started thanks to Manny. We always talk about food places at work and he mentioned Thai food. So we decided to meet up for lunch at Chai Thai. They have a Chai Thai in Hunters Creek as well, but I had to try this one.

Salad and spring roll. Included with the lunch special today.
It’s located on Orange avenue just a half a block north of Michigan. Very hard to find while on Orange. It’s in between Starbucks and Planet Smoothie.

Pad Kee Mao. One review said to try this so I did. I didn’t want to go with the usual Pad Thai. Wanted something different and tasty and this was just the dish I needed. It was fantastic.

Panang Beef. Manny got this dish and it smelled great. He went with medium this time around. He usually gets Thai hot.

Ginger Chicken with white rice. Ashely ordered this one. Again, it smelled great. I never get around to asking them for a bite because I was enjoying mine so much.

Feast shot. My favorite shot to take all the time. Hanging out with great people and having great food. That’s what it’s all about.

Sticky Rice with Mango. Manny orders this every time he comes here. It’s his favorite thing to get. AMAZING. This one I did get a bite of and it’s perfect. The rice is hot and the mango is cold. The perfect bite when you combine them together.

I arrived around 12:30pm and parking was a nightmare. Around 1:30pm the parking lot was empty. I am sure the lunch rush made the parking area a mess. The restaurant was not very busy. Which surprises me because the food was great.
