No Name Beach Bar and Grill (Cozumel Mexico)

The weather was horrible in Cozumel. We had a day of rough seas and not able to dock in Costa Maya, so we came to Cozumel in the evening and stayed overnight. This morning the weather continued being bad.

After putting on our ponchos we head out for a food-venture. The No Name Bar was where we happen to arrive. We went to another place beforehand, but it was packed so we came here. So glad we did.

It’s a very small bar area. I had to ask if they served food and they have a large selection of items to order. Including some Turkish dishes.

The menu was awesome. Flags from all over the world. This bar and grill is made by crew, for crew. Their welcome mat says it as soon as you walk in. Sadly, I didn’t get a picture of it.

@aroth was a serious trooper today. After all that rain hitting our faces we were happy to be somewhere that was nice and warm and with free wifi.

Big Momma (@aroth) started it off with a Cafe Latte. Great choice. With that little touch of cinnamon.

Turkish coffee for me. And yes that is a double. Wow. I swear I grew hair with that first drink. The “mud” at the end is always the best.

Oh yeah. Not everyone enjoys this. I happen to be a fan of Turkish coffee. Kudos to No Name Bar for making it so well. As I mentioned they have different Turkish items on the menu.

El Capitan’s Girlfriend. Arrachera (Steak) with French Fries and Side Salad. This was my dish. Oh yes. I tend to come to Cozumel for their steak. It has a unique taste.

@aroth ordered The 2nd Officer. Arrachera tacos with cheese. They bring you the pico de gallo and the guacamole on the side.

All in all, very nice place. Veronica was our server and she was very sweet. The woman at the bar was not as friendly. She just gave us the menus and had us have a seat. Efficient, but not friendly. No Name is located right across the street from Mega grocery store. Ask for Veronica.

Matilda’s On Park

This blog post is in honor of @dafoodie and @talktochu! Mega Super Gracias for the suggestion and invite to Matilda’s.

Park avenue is the place to be in Winter Park for a great meal. Today was a group eating sort of day.

We arrived for lunch. It was about 11:30am. @ExplorinOrlando @bstreett5 @winechix @tarajroth @eatlocalorlando @dafoodie and @talktochu and myself (@foodbidden) were in attendance.

Matilda’s accommodated all of us without a problem. Luckily, @dafoodie had given them a heads up that we would ALL be arriving.

The place is very nice. According to @dafoodie this location has had several name changes. It has only been Matilda’s for about 8 months now.

Located on Park Avenue and Canton. The staff is no joke. Everyone is friendly and knowledgable about their dishes. Today Ashley was our server and handled the group very well. Now, LET’S TALK COMIDA!!

@Eatlocalorlando dish: Shrimp Gumbo

@Eatlocalorlando dish: Bacon Cowboy Ranch Salad

@Tarajroth dish: Mad Mac Bites. Our famous mac blended with bacon, deep-fried, and drizzled in secret sauce.

@tarajroth dish: Barbie Fries with cheddar cheese sauce.

@foodbidden dish: Roo Burger. Kangaroo meat is beef like, but with its own full-bodied flavor. Served with our cheese lager sauce, onion straws.

Roo Burger with Truffle fries.

@winechix dish: Popeye Mac and Cheese. Goat cheese, sautéed spinach, artichokes, roasted red pepper, and roasted garlic.

@Tarajroth dish: Buffalo Chicken Mac. Tender white chicken, cheddar and American cheese, blended with our famous secret sauce.

@dafoodie dish: Trio Grilled Chicken Tacos. Tequila honey lime, marinated chicken over lettuce, topped with roasted corn, salsa, fresh avocado, and lime, cilantro cream.

@talktochu dish: Banana Bread Pudding with strawberries and ice cream.

Overall, a fantastic experience. This is a place we are planning to go to again. Very laid back for lunch. Lots of TV screens for game days. The greeting when entering the restaurant is a very nice touch and the opening of the door when we walked out made me feel like a VIF. (Very Important Foodie)

Ashley, thank you so much for the great service and making all those fantastic recommendations for us. They were spot on.

Delly Deck (St. Thomas)

St. Thomas. Gorgeous island. The place to find great souvenirs and nice places to eat near the pier. Of course, the beautiful beaches are okay as well. : )

We walked around and did some shopping before we arrived to Delly Deck. We entered and only saw outside seating. We then saw some people coming out of a door and we noticed there was an inside area. We went inside for some AC.

According to our server this place has been here for over 30 years. Amazing. Reviews seem to say that they have the best breakfast in town. Wish I could have tried it for myself. We came for lunch. Now let’s talk COMIDA!!

Skinny Dip with French Fries. Their version of a Philly cheese steak sandwich. The Au Jus made this sandwich ten times better. Lots of flavor.

Fried Chicken with a side salad. The Big Cheese was on a mission when she ordered this. I won’t lie I tried some and it was fantastic. It had a sweet flavor to it. They must put some magic in the batter. All I needed was a waffle on the side. : )

Another shot of the Skinny Dip.

Close up shot of the Fried Chicken.

Our server was on it today. Reviews say they take long. We had quick and friendly service with a smile. Lots of locals and tourist come here. When you are in the area come and check them out.
