Murray’s Deli

Another gorgeous day in Paradise. Paradise Island that is. AA and I had decided to go on a #foodventure and Atlantis would be the place.

Lucky for us @gailyw and hubby happened to be in town visiting, so we planned on meeting for lunch.

This place is HUGE. Fits a bunch of people and trust me after a few minutes it got packed.

The place is clean. Open kitchen is always nice. Makes me feel safe.

The decor is amazing and the place is jammin with current songs and oldies.

Shakes with liquor. @Gailyw and hubby wasted no time. You can order the shakes with the liquor of choice. Good way to start a vacation.

Roast Beef with Au Jus. This was very flavorful. Now I won’t say that it’s better than Chicago. But I would say this was pretty good

Chicken and waffles. How can you ever go wrong with chicken and waffles? Their portions are big. You have to come hungry.

All kinds of cakes for dessert. None of us could possibly eat one of these desserts, but it all looked so good I had to take a picture of it.

Thank you so much to Gail and Simon for making time to eat with us. AA and I had a blast.

The service was a bit slow, but our server was very nice and efficient. It does get very busy and that’s why it tends to take a little bit longer to get your food.

Two Thumbs Up.

Big Mama’s (Costa Maya)

The unexpected surprises are always the best. @tarajroth and I had a small window to “jump off the ship” and go and get a bite to eat. My buddy Bam from DCL suggested a place called Big Mama’s.

My favorite part of the story was him saying that it was not fancy and that we would get to see Big Mama while there. @Tarajroth and I looked at each other and agreed it had to be done.

It was a rainy day. For some strange reason I had my umbrella with me and we walked quite a bit to find a taxi. Long story on why taxis aren’t allowed anymore near the pier. We found a taxi and we were on our way.

When we arrived Bam was there at Big Mama’s. I always love when people suggest a place that they personally eat it. When we arrived we were greeted by Big Mama. Sweet woman who has owned the restaurant for a year now.

Hugo was our server today. we stayed under the small hut. We had the option of sitting by the beach, but the rain stopped us from doing it today.

Big Mama was standing in the front area of the restaurant advertising to all the tourist stopping by bragging about her fresh fruit Margaritas.

Big Mama had asked if I wanted some serious hot sauce and my answer without hesitation was yes.
The tears would not stop. This stuff was very spicy. I loved it.

Fresh Guacamole. @Tarajroth has this philosophy. If the guacamole is good then all the rest of the dishes have to be good. Now you see why I love this woman.

Steak Burrito

Cheese enchiladas with green sauce.

Overall a nice place. Don’t expect anything fancy. This is not for regular tourist. This place is for people who love local eats. Everyone is down to earth. They are all very attentive as soon as you arrive. The food is good. Mexican coke is a must. Guacamole is also a must. Big Mama is greeting everyone with a big smile. Check it out for yourself.

When you arrive to the pier. Look for a taxi and ask for Big Mama’s. All the locals know about this place.

Dapper’s Restaurant

I am guessing there is a West somewhere around these parts as well. My mom comes here every week with a friend.

My dad says this place is only for senior citizens and doesn’t like coming here. I said we need to check it out ourselves and see what happens.

For as long as I can remember this place has been here. It is located in the Addison Mall. There is a Target store within this mall now. My, my, how things have changed. I used to bank at Household Bank way back in the day. Ahhhh…….memories.

This morning we were hungry and ready for a great breakfast. As you all know my favorite is having a Mexican breakfast with steak, eggs, Chilaquiles, rice, and beans. But today I had to do something different.

Thin Waffle. Yep, that’s what I said. My mom special orders a thin waffle. This was delicious. My mom gave me a bite and I swear I am ordering it like this from now on.

Eggs, over medium, hash browns with cheese sauce and sausage.

Side of Ham. This was my favorite part of the meal.

@Xobejm had her usual. Scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns.

@Tarajroth had the French Toast, Eggs, over easy, and bacon

Papi had the huevos rancheros omelette and hash browns.

Pancakes. They must put something in the batter. These are very tasty.

Feast Shot. I have to always include these shots. So much joy to eat with family.

Great service and decent prices. Coffee keeps on coming and the restaurant is very clean. Nice and quiet which is what I loved the most about it. This is a must try in the city.
