2 months and we are hoping many more to come. Junior’s cafe is a little tiny restaurant with big taste. The food is Puerto Rican and Guatemalan. I love their slogan, “FRIENDO Y COMIENDO”. Frying and Eating. It obviously has a better ring in Spanish.
Last, but definitely not least, the home made Guatemalan tamale, Corn based dough with chicken wrapped in a banana leaf. Now this one took me back to the Guatemalan family get togethers at home. Wow. Truly homemade. AMAZING! I haven’t had anything like this in over 13 years. With the lime on the side and a piece of bread. OH YEAH! BUEN PROVECHO TO ME!!
The most heart warming part of my visit was the owners coming out and talking to me. They are both from Guatemala and just hearing their accents made me miss my family in Guatemala. I asked about the Puerto Rican influence in their restaurant and the chef came out and she is the Puerto Rican one. Great combination. I wish them many more years of business.
If you are ever in the Orlando area, they are located on Orange Blossom Trail and Whisper Lakes. Go and pay them a visit. You will not regret it.
There was a customer that came in asking if they had any relationship to Junior’s Colombian Burger. I can see that being an issue, since it is the same name.
